• What is the treatment for excessive sweating of the head?

• The main patient complaints with a primary hyperhidrosis are embarrassment and social isolation. However, when antiperspirant therapy is in place, patients also complain about dryness and irritation under the armpits.
• Excessive axillary sweating can be caused by an autonomic nervous system dysfunction or a pheochromocytoma. This condition may be difficult to treat but should not mimic other conditions such as thyrotoxicosis or catecholamine-secreting tumors (i.e., adrenal adenomas).
