first of all, you can’t. sweating is regulated by the autonomic nervous system (the part of your nervous system that controls involuntary bodily functions). in most people, it’s richard simmons who sweats profusely when he performs. my guess is that his sweat glands are more sensitive than yours and so he sweats more.
but if you do want to stop sweating, there are some things you can try:
– eat less salty foods – sodium causes water retention in your body. i know this sounds crazy but true! cutting back on salt will help with both excessive perspiration and bloating/swelling during certain times of the month
– cut out alcohol or caffeine – these things will make you feel dehydrated very quickly which further promotes excessive fluid retention in the body
– drink enough water each day – keep a bottle handy at work so that no matter how much time goes by between refills, you’re still drinking enough water! i’m not kidding about this one either; it seriously makes a difference on an individual basis for many people
