The same goes for kids who are very sensitive to noises. If they’re not used to being alone in their cribs, it’s hard on them when you’ve got a party going on downstairs. So if your child has trouble sleeping without noise around her, try getting some new toys that don’t make loud sounds (or better yet, cut out all of the noisy ones). You can also ask friends and family members not to play with your child while she’s still awake; playing quietly together lowers the volume of anyone else’s voice. And be sure to keep TVs and stereos off at bedtime!
